  MXPTV Wednesday Wipeout – January 21st, 2009
  
  Jamie Lawrence – Southwick LL Qualifier – Spring 2005

  I took this photo of another “JLaw”. This one being New York’s Jamie Lawrence. Believe it or not, in this photo, Jamie does save this close call in Southwick’s “Buckley Berm”, which is a famous corner at Southwick made famous by New England’s legendary motocross photographer Paul Buckley. Jamie had it going here in 2005 and would end up taking the #1 plate at Loretta Lynn’s in the MX Lites C Modified class in 2006. After his amateur national title, Jamie has been on and off the scene the past year or so and we haven’t seen much Jamie on the track these days. But his brother Johnny is still going strong locally in southern New York area in the A classes as part of his Welfare Racing team and recently raced at the Mini O’s in November 2008.

  Steel City LL Youth Regional 2005 – Photo by Matt Wozney
  This week’s Wednesday Wipeout is not actually a wipeout but a close one! This photo was shot at the Loretta Lynn Northeast Youth Regional in June 2004. It shows KTM’s Zach Osborne leading Suzuki’s Nico Izzi during a Schoolboy moto, with Osborne on a 125 and Izzi on a 105. This section is no longer there at Steel City but at this moment, it sure made for some exciting racing. And oh yeah, the guy taking a much closer photo than I was is none other than Racer X’s Jason Weigandt.
