Here’s a list of manufacturer’s who have listed a 2009 contingency program on their site as of December 20th.
Kawasaki (Yes!)
KTM (Kinda….)
(A very limited 2009 MX support program compared to 2008)
Suzuki (Not Yet….)
(So far, the Suzuki website is showing 2008 but nothing for 2009)
“Husqvarna Motorcycles NA is pleased to announce their 2009 National Contingency Program which posts more than $11,000,000 up for grabs over a wide range of American racing events and series. Recognized as one of the powersport industry’s most dynamic contingency offers, the 2009 program will be made available to qualified owners of 2008 and 2009 model Husqvarna motorcycles.Â
“Last season the Husqvarna National Contingency Program paid out a serious amount of money to Husqvarna riders throughout the country and our intention is to keep the momentum going in 2009,” said Husqvarna Sales & Marketing Manager Scot Harden.Â
Husqvarna has posted over $180,000 for Husqvarna mounted GNCC competitors alone. The funds will be spread over 25 classes in the form of series bonuses and individual race performance rewards.Â
“Any way you slice it,” continued Harden, “this 2009 contingency program is a further demonstration of Husqvarna’s deep commitment to the sport of off-road racing and it is our sincere hope to reward the many riders who support the U.S. off-road racing scene, too.”Â

That is what MXPTV sees as far as contingency goes for the top manufacturer’s for 2009. Â MXPTV has heard from a few credible sources that Suzuki will have contingency for 2009 but we will have wait and see when Suzuki announces their program for 2009, even though they dropped their amateur support program about a month ago. Â Check back to MXPTV Live Updates daily for more updates on contingency in the near future and if and when Suzuki will make their announcement for 2009.
