Welcome to this week’s edition of Woz Up! Â It’s been another week of making videos and working myself into a sweat as of late. Â Just getting into better shape for this season especially when the outdoor nationals kick in. Â But in a related matter, last weekend, I made my yearly visit to the last day of Virginia pro Randall Everett’s 454 Factory Winter Camp in southern Maryland. Â It was a cool visit to see some new and old faces there putting in the time with Randall and fitness trainer Patrick Maffio. Â It’s always a fun time to go and shoot the 454 Factory camp. Â Check for their video on Monday at MXPTV along with a comedic outtakes video shortly after!
Check out this week’s Crash video featuring Chris Makuta, Alex Burch, and others from my visit to the Jimmy Weinert Training Facility as they all attempt to jump simple rhythm sections on their BMX bikes and hit the ground hard! Â Check it out below:
I posted my Year In Review article on Wednesday headlining the top events MXPTV covered throughout the 2011 season. Â It was a big step for me and MXPTV last year. Â If you didn’t catch it, CLICK HERE to read away. Â It’s an interesting look of what happened behind the scenes in 2011 at MXPTV.
I got the new MXPTV “Video. Photo. Moto.” t-shirts in! Â They aren’t up for sale yet but check for an order link on MXPTV very soon. Â They are cool, comfortable, and damn sexy in my opinion. Â If you want to get into a MXPTV video, I suggest wearing one of these bad boys.
A special congrats to PA native Mike McDade on sealing up the Arenacross Lites East championship in Kentucky last weekend. Â With a son, a dedicated trainer, and a tight budget, Mike was able to pull it all together for his first #1 plate in the pro ranks. Â Mike will be riding for the vastly growing Reed and Reese race team at a few east coast supercross rounds aboard a KTM. Â Congrats Mike!
Also a special shout out to another Pennsylvania native. Â This being Ronnie Stewart. Â Stewart is the only Northeast-based rider giving it go on the West Coast SX Lites series and as a privateer, he has been making it in the night program since the opening round at Anaheim 1 with top 30-40 qualifying times against a very stacked Lites class. Â Congrats Ronnie and best of luck at San Diego this weekend!
The next 2 weeks will be all over the place for me and MXPTV. Â I will be attending my first DealerNews trade show in Indianapolis, Indiana. Â I look forward to meeting new people in the industry along with many others I’ve met already. Â Look for photos from the show Friday and Saturday and as always, follow @MXPTVÂ on Twitter for quick updates from the show.
After the trade show, I’ll head back home, do a quick unpack/repack, and head down south for another road trip. Â I will meet my brother, Tyler, and many others at numerous tracks throughout the week. Â Stops include another stop at Club MX and Jimmy Weinert’s training facility along with possibly Monster Mountain, South of the Border, and many more. Â I’ll do up videos from each location throughout the week.
MXPTV got its first winner in its Guess The Podium contest last weekend with Jeremy Musa correctly guessing the SX class podium (along with Allan Duigon who got it as well). Â Jeremy won a fresh copy of Moto Xposure 3 and the prizes are going to be great for tomorrow’s contest. Â Make sure you put your picks in time before the first SX Lites heat drops the gate tomorrow night from San Diego. Â The race will be back on its much-wanted live television spot on Speed starting at 10PM ET. Â The series is getting more interesting by each race so make sure you stayed tuned all night long!
Other than that, it’s been a busy week in my world behind the scenes with planning out shoots throughout the year and more work along the way. Â Stay tuned for 2 new videos from last weekend’s 454 Factory winter camp next week along with Indy Trade Show coverage next weekend! Â And don’t forget to follow the road trip fun after Indy on Twitter @MXPTV. Â Thanks for reading and see ya at the races!
