Day 4 of the Thor Winter National Olympics presented by Pro Circuit started off with a very misty morning that started to disappear as the practice sessions were going off. Â Racing started around noon time and we did have some exciting racing action going on! Â The day was filled with sun and blue skies! Â There was one rider named Rudy Gaskin who was life flighted out of the facility, as there was a nasty 1st turn crash in the 250 C Stock class. Â Here are some notes and results from the races that ran today!
Highlights From The Day (Photos Are Below)
-Ian Trettel grabs both 250 A Stock and Open A Stock class wins. Â Tevin Tapia finishes 2nd and Lance Vincent finished 3rd in 250 A Stock. Eli Tomac got around a fast moving Austin Howell in Open A Stock to finish 2nd. Â Iowa’s Gavin Faith, who was very consistent in SX, had bad motos in both A classes today.
-The 250 B Stock divisions saw exciting racing! Â Gannon Audette led Division 1 of 250 B Stock before he was ejected off the bike on a step up jump in the middle of the track. Â Jason Brooks and Brad Frace battled for the win as Brooks took the checkers. Â Division 2 of 250 B Stock was won by Kyle Goerke, who came under huge pressure from Nicolas Leocata, Grant Ransdell, and Blake Dungey. Â Dungey was battling Goerke before 2nd before falling over in the turn before a step up jump. Â Ransdell came from behind and showed great speed on his YZ250 two stroke. Ransdell was also a winner in Division 3 of Schoolboy (14-16). Â Division 3 was won by Joey Savatgy over Justin Bogle and Alex Spade.
-Both Supermini 1 (12-15) divisions saw Cooper Webb and Adam Cianciarulo take division wins. Â Both riders are showing very similar speeds this week and the 2nd moto should be really interesting tomorrow. Â Other top names in the divisions were Colton Ford, Aaron Plessinger, Thomas Covington, and Jesse Masterpool.
-85 (9-11) Stock saw 3 divisions with Chase Bell, Tristan Charbonneau, and Steven Gretchen grabbing division wins. Â Bell checked out from gate to checkers in Division 1 and also won the 65 (10-11) Stock class moto today. Â Ashton Hayes stayed in distance of Charbonneau in Division 2 but Charbonneau grew his lead greatly by moto’s end. Â Gretchen and Donny Brown had a great battle for the lead in Division 3.
-The Women (12+) class saw a full 40 rider gate and your moto 1 winner was Geico Powersports’ Honda rider Jessica Patterson. Â Patterson checked out as Leah Cantrell finished 2nd and Kasie Creson finished 3rd. Â In Girls (9-15), Christina Older came away with the moto win and was very pumped after crossing the finish line. Â Kelsey Morris and Raeslee Weimer finished 2nd and 3rd in the moto.
-Vet classes saw a Kawasaki sweep with Earl May taking the first moto of Plus 45 class and Mike Treadwell winning the first Plus 35 moto.
-250 C Stock saw Matthew Toth and Noah McConahy win their divisions. Other top riders include Cody Rowe, Brad Allison, Colton McLeod, and John Paul Tortorigi (who did very well in SX).
-51 (7-8) Stock saw Tristan Lewis and Jordan Bailey take division wins. Â 51 (4-6) was won by Daniel McCullon as SX class champion Gauge Keith led the moto until a few corners left to go on the last lap.
-Schoolboy (14-16) saw 3 divisions, which were won by Jessy Nelson, Cole Thompson, and Grant Ransdell. Â This class is full of heavy hitters like Joey Savatgy, Matt Bisceglia, Justin Bogle, Blake Dungey, Kyle Goerke, Justin Summers, James Justice, Kyle Peters, and many others. Â This may be the most stacked class at the Mini O’s this year.
-85 (12-13) Stock saw Cooper Webb take the Division 1 win over Thomas Covington, Aaron Plessinger, and Colton Ford. Â Division 2 saw a great race between Jesse Masterpool and Adam Cianciarulo as Masterpool won the division as Cianciarulo was on his tail the whole moto. Â Masterpool showed great speed as well as AC. Â AC did have extra smoke coming out of his exhaust when he landed on the jumps. Â Not sure if that was holding him back but other wise, the 2nd moto should be a barn burner!
